Background Checks for Children & Youth Events

Don’t let safety slip your mind as you prepare for a great week of VBS, Summer Programming, or any Youth Event. Ensure those who are serving have gotten the necessary background checks. In most states, these are a legal requirement for volunteers working with children. 

Not only will you rest assured that your volunteers and teachers have been screened, but you will also show parents that you have done your due diligence to ensure the safety and security of their children.
 

Take advantage of Shelby Next ChMS 's integration with Protect My Ministry to make background checks easy and organized.

1. If you have not signed up with Protect My Ministry for doing background checks, select a person in your database, click on the three dot icon, then click "Order Background Check." Click on the provided link to signup for an account. 
    
2. Once you've signed up, configure your background check settings. 
    
3. Use the Advanced Search with the Background field along with the groups you have created for volunteers to find those who still need background checks.
    
4. Go to the person’s record in the database and then use the gear icon to “Order Background Check.”
